What I wore... In Paris!

Good afternoon lovely people,
Hope youre all keeping well.

Apologies for the lack of posts since Paris at the end of March, but just after that weekend, myself and Trevor moved in together. Yay!
Things have been busy and spending plenty of time transitioning, but loving every minute.

So, as promised at the beginning of April, heres what i wore in Paris for my birthday weekend.

I really think this was the best packing I have ever done (being known as a serial 'over-packer') and I wore everything I brought.
I love to plan trips ahead of time, day-by-day so this really helped me in my packing as i knew what we would be doing, therefore could bring suitable clothing/ shoes for each day!

So, here we go:

Day One; Travelling
For travelling over to Paris, I decided on something comfortable but still wanted to be parisien, so naturally I opted for Breton stripes!
Dress: New Look
Boots: New Look
Blazer: River Island
Scarf: Penneys

And of course, what else would you do arriving in a stunning Paris hotel, only jump on the bed!

Once we arrived to our hotel after having a lovely glass of wine and beer on the side of the street, right in front of Paris Opera House, we settled in, dropped our bags and headed out to the Galeries Lafayette where youre surrounded by designer names and keen shoppers. It was amazing!

Day Two; Sacre Cour and Eiffel Tower
We heard that the views from the Sacre Cour were the most beautiful in the city, and it was true. We decided there was no better time to visit than at sunrise. We got up extra early (4.45am to be exact), threw on some clothes and headed up the hill on the 25minute walk to the Sacre Cour. It was a chilly morning and i was glad i brought my coat and scarf!
Runners: Nike
Jeggings: Vero Moda
Tshirt: Penneys
Scarf: Penneys
Coat: Penneys

We strolled back down the hill just as the businesses were opening and deliveries of fresh fruit, veg and fish were being made. It was such a lovely time to see the city. Definatly reccommend it!
We headed back to the hotel and had a lovely big breakfast before heading for a nap after our early morning.

We showered and changed, and headed back out in search of the Eiffel Tower. We headed to the Arc de Triomphe firsly and then the eiffel tower. We got a little lost in the city this day but didnt mind at all, it was stunning and a lovely warm day!
We bought matching outifts especially for the 'eiffel tower' visit. Arent we cool?

Jeggings: vero Moda
Pumps: Penneys
Vest top/ Stripes top: Penneys
Blazer: River Island
Trevs Tshirt: Penneys

After all our walking, we were exhausted so another nap was on the cards before dinner. We fell asleep for hours, and most places were closed near where we were staying by the time we woke up so we walked up towards the Moulin Rouge area which was buzzing. We had some delicious food in a diner and watched the fun outside. The area is a little rough at night time so be careful of your belongings and try get taxis where you can!

Day Three; Louvre, Ponts des Arts, Notre Dame, Eiffel tower at midnight.
On a full belly, we set off for the day to the Louvre. We spent quite some time here but were concious of fitting everything in so didnt get to visit the gardens just beside the Louvre (tuileries garden) which i really wanted to see. Any excuse to visit again!
After the Louvre, we walked along the Seine to the Pont des Arts, or Love lock bridge as its known. We had our caricature drawn on the bridge and although it cost €25, it was fun and we'll have the picture always.
After locking our love-lock onto the bridge, we headed towards Notre Dame. The ques for it was insane, about 2 hours long so we decieded photos from the bottom were enough!
Boots: New Look
Skort: Penneys
Tshirt: New Look
Blazer: River Island
We headed for dinner in the hotel followed by coctails, and then changed back into our casual clothes to head to see the light show at the Eiffel Tower. A really special way to finish off our Paris trip before our flight the next morning.
To dinner i wore this roayl blue dress from New Look, its an office style, sort of 50's mad men dress.
Lastly, what I wore to the Eiffel tower light show. Jeggings, Coat, Tshirt and pumps, all Penneys.

We had an amazing time and will definatly visit again.
Its been lovely to relive the fab time we had a look back at all these pictures!

Stay tuned for more blog posts soon.
Much love,
Conni

After shower routine

Hey lovelies,
I wanted to share with you my after shower routine, what products I use on my skin/hair.

*So, as my skin is super dry, I like to first of all use a body moisturiser. My favourite is The Body Shop Coconut body butter, it has a lovely this texture ideal for my dry skin. I like to feel the product on my skin 20minutes later as opposed to just drying in and skin feeling dry all over again.
*Alternatively Iv been using the Nivea in-shower body moisturiser, which is really handy. You wash as normal, then apply the in-shower moisturiser before rinsing it off. It leaves skin so so smooth, it's gorgeous! I use this if I'm in a rush and don't have time for the full application of the body butter.
*Secondly, I use a face moisturiser. I had been using The body shops vitamin E cream which I really like but haven't been back to pick up another one yet so for now Decleor aroma night balm is being used on days when I need extra TLC, or dermalogica skin smoothing cream.
*Also, obviously, deodorant! I think that ones self explanatory. I like the scent of this one.
*Lastly, I spritz a very small amount of this Payot elixir dry oil into the ends of my hair and it makes my hair so shiny, it's really nourishing. It can be used on skin too, so it's really handy to take abroad with you too.

Have any of you tried these products or have recommendations for me on alternatives?
Love to hear from you all.

Much love,
Conni

10 Reasons to Exfoliate

Hay lovlies,
This post as you may have guessed, is about exfoliation.
I have been a Beauty Therapist, working full-time in the industry for almost a year now and the one thing I have really discovered while carrying out facials every day is how important exfoliation is.

The other products arent exactly important, and it is really down to personal preference what you want to use on your face.
Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, mask and moisturise are the most important steps, and there are other things like massage and using concentrated serums and oils which are essentially personal preference.

*Cleansing is THE most imporant step. The key is to STEP AWAY FROM THE FACE WIPES!
It doesnt matter if your cleanser costs €50, €15 or €5 (the one im using at the moment is the latter, bu Olay), the important thing is that youre using a cleanser. Cleanser helps to really clean the skin and get rid of all makeup. Trick is to get one that suits all skin types, not to creamy, not too watery. The one im using is by Olay and its really nice. Its for normal/ dry skin and it feels really comfortable on the skin, during and after washing.

*Toning, is a step to really 'squeaky-clean' the skin. It helps to remove any trace of product/ remaining makeup left on the skin and in some cases, is used to tighten and close the pores.

*Masks are like concentrated moisturisers and help to deliver ingredients into the skin in a short period of time such as 10-15 minutes.

*And moisturisers help to attract and conserve the skins water holding ability. To do this, moisturisers usually contain humectants- which are like water magnets.

Onto the exfoliation, and 10 reasons why I think it is one of the most important steps in everyones skincare routine:
Exfoliators are used to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin using either a mechanical or non-mechanical form of exfoliation.
Mechanical means it physically removes the dead skin cells using grains or beads present in the exfoliator. This exfoliator will have texture.
Non-Mechanical means it chemically removes the dead skin cells using a chemical or fruit acid to 'eat away' at the dead skin cells on the skins surface. This exfoliator will be smooth.

10 Benefits of exfoliation:

1. Removes dead skin cells.
2. Smooths skins texture.
3. Makes moisturiser more effective on the skin.
4. Brightens dull skin.
5. Evens skin colour by speeding up the skins natural renewal process (cell turnover)
6. Makeup applies more evenly.
7. Stimulates bloodflow to the skin.
8. Gets rid of flaky dry skin, bringing fresh skin to the surface.
9. Keeps pores from clogging, therefore stopping buildup spots and breakouts.
10.Helps to reduce fine lines as it works as a skin re-surfacer.

If number 10 doesnt convince you to incorporate exfoliation into your skin car routine, then i dont know what will :)

Best of luck and happy exfoliator shopping!

FOTD

Hi lovelies,
Just wanted to post up the pics from my face of the day the other day.

Got lots of comments of my eye makeup the day I wore this look. I used the urban decay naked palette.
I used virgin all over the lid, followed by naked in the outer lid area. I used a small amount of sin on the centre of the lid and MACs Trax in the crease followed by a little of MACs brun.
Inglot #77 liner in on the lash line.
I used an Estée Lauder bronze under the eye along with kiko mascara and kiko lipstick.

What do you think?
Much love,

OOTD

Hi lovlies,
Heres a little ootd from a while back.
I'm wearing:
Jumper, shirt and boots: penneys
Jeans: tally Weijl
Scarf: years old, I think it's from penneys.
I bought these boots a while ago and I love them. They're like flat Chelsea boots and were only €11! Only thing is, when I wear them, the next day I get really bad aches in my joints of my ankles and the arches of my feet, whatever that's about :/ I still love them that I wear them if I'm not going to be doing much walking. Terrible what we do for fashion :)

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy.
Much love,
Conni
