Weekend in Paris

Hello lovlies,
Hope all are well.

Im recently back from an amazing trip in Paris with Trevor. We went to celebrate my 25th birthday from March 27- 30th.
We stayed in The Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel and it was really nice, would definatly reccommend it. Service and location were great and the rooms were so comfy and really clean.

We visited a lot of attractions like The Galeries Lafayette:

Sacre Cour:

Eiffel Tower:

Arc de Triomphe:

Notre Dame:

The Louvre:

Pont des Arts:

It was SUCH an amazing break away and we did so much in a short time. We stayed over for 3 nights in Paris and booked it through Expedia if anyone is wondering :)

If you'd like to see outift of the day posts, keep an eye out. I will have them up over the next few days!

After shower routine

Hey lovelies,
I wanted to share with you my after shower routine, what products I use on my skin/hair.

*So, as my skin is super dry, I like to first of all use a body moisturiser. My favourite is The Body Shop Coconut body butter, it has a lovely this texture ideal for my dry skin. I like to feel the product on my skin 20minutes later as opposed to just drying in and skin feeling dry all over again.
*Alternatively Iv been using the Nivea in-shower body moisturiser, which is really handy. You wash as normal, then apply the in-shower moisturiser before rinsing it off. It leaves skin so so smooth, it's gorgeous! I use this if I'm in a rush and don't have time for the full application of the body butter.
*Secondly, I use a face moisturiser. I had been using The body shops vitamin E cream which I really like but haven't been back to pick up another one yet so for now Decleor aroma night balm is being used on days when I need extra TLC, or dermalogica skin smoothing cream.
*Also, obviously, deodorant! I think that ones self explanatory. I like the scent of this one.
*Lastly, I spritz a very small amount of this Payot elixir dry oil into the ends of my hair and it makes my hair so shiny, it's really nourishing. It can be used on skin too, so it's really handy to take abroad with you too.

Have any of you tried these products or have recommendations for me on alternatives?
Love to hear from you all.

10 Reasons to Exfoliate

Hay lovlies,
This post as you may have guessed, is about exfoliation.
I have been a Beauty Therapist, working full-time in the industry for almost a year now and the one thing I have really discovered while carrying out facials every day is how important exfoliation is.

The other products arent exactly important, and it is really down to personal preference what you want to use on your face.
Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, mask and moisturise are the most important steps, and there are other things like massage and using concentrated serums and oils which are essentially personal preference.

*Cleansing is THE most imporant step. The key is to STEP AWAY FROM THE FACE WIPES!
It doesnt matter if your cleanser costs €50, €15 or €5 (the one im using at the moment is the latter, bu Olay), the important thing is that youre using a cleanser. Cleanser helps to really clean the skin and get rid of all makeup. Trick is to get one that suits all skin types, not to creamy, not too watery. The one im using is by Olay and its really nice. Its for normal/ dry skin and it feels really comfortable on the skin, during and after washing.

*Toning, is a step to really 'squeaky-clean' the skin. It helps to remove any trace of product/ remaining makeup left on the skin and in some cases, is used to tighten and close the pores.

*Masks are like concentrated moisturisers and help to deliver ingredients into the skin in a short period of time such as 10-15 minutes.

*And moisturisers help to attract and conserve the skins water holding ability. To do this, moisturisers usually contain humectants- which are like water magnets.

Onto the exfoliation, and 10 reasons why I think it is one of the most important steps in everyones skincare routine:
Exfoliators are used to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin using either a mechanical or non-mechanical form of exfoliation.
Mechanical means it physically removes the dead skin cells using grains or beads present in the exfoliator. This exfoliator will have texture.
Non-Mechanical means it chemically removes the dead skin cells using a chemical or fruit acid to 'eat away' at the dead skin cells on the skins surface. This exfoliator will be smooth.

10 Benefits of exfoliation:

1. Removes dead skin cells.
2. Smooths skins texture.
3. Makes moisturiser more effective on the skin.
4. Brightens dull skin.
5. Evens skin colour by speeding up the skins natural renewal process (cell turnover)
6. Makeup applies more evenly.
7. Stimulates bloodflow to the skin.
8. Gets rid of flaky dry skin, bringing fresh skin to the surface.
9. Keeps pores from clogging, therefore stopping buildup spots and breakouts.
10.Helps to reduce fine lines as it works as a skin re-surfacer.

If number 10 doesnt convince you to incorporate exfoliation into your skin car routine, then i dont know what will :)

Best of luck and happy exfoliator shopping!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and if you are interested in any more posts like this, then let me know.

Hi lovelies,
Just wanted to post up the pics from my face of the day the other day.

Got lots of comments of my eye makeup the day I wore this look. I used the urban decay naked palette.
I used virgin all over the lid, followed by naked in the outer lid area. I used a small amount of sin on the centre of the lid and MACs Trax in the crease followed by a little of MACs brun.
Inglot #77 liner in on the lash line.
I used an Estée Lauder bronze under the eye along with kiko mascara and kiko lipstick.

What do you think?

Hi lovlies,
Heres a little ootd from a while back.
I'm wearing:
Jumper, shirt and boots: penneys
Jeans: tally Weijl
Scarf: years old, I think it's from penneys.
I bought these boots a while ago and I love them. They're like flat Chelsea boots and were only €11! Only thing is, when I wear them, the next day I get really bad aches in my joints of my ankles and the arches of my feet, whatever that's about :/ I still love them that I wear them if I'm not going to be doing much walking. Terrible what we do for fashion :)

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy.

Recent Buys

Hay there lovlies,
I thought id quickly post up a few bits that i bought a couple of weeks ago and never got around to posting.

1. Firstly, I picked up this handbag, purse and finger-top ring in River Island. I needed a new handbag and never had one from River Island before so i went for this black and gold one which is big enough to fit everything into but still practical to go with pretty much everything!
The purse is quite small, just for nights out or to pop into a clutch bag, as the one i have is much too big. This one fits some change/ notes and a bank card.

2. Next I went to Dunnes and picked up a swimsuit, jumper and sports bra.
I needed to get a more gym-friendly swimsuit as the one i was using before Christmas was a little inappropriate so this is much better. The jumper is a little baggy and just for wearing to keep me cosy.
The sport bra is really small fitting, it doenst even fit me. So if youre going sports bra shopping make sure to try them on in the store before buying.
Silly me!

3. Next i picked up some individual lashes in Penneys and this round headed brush. I also picked up this cute Me-to-You calander in the calander shop, as my usual go-to place for my calander and diarys were all sold out and werent getting any more in, bummer :( But this one is really cute and it the pefect size!

4. Finally, I headed in Lifestyle Sports for a little fitness motivation after Christmas.
My old runners were really beaten and faded so i headed in to pick up a new pair. Seems a lot of people were doing the same because a lot of the styles were sold out that i wanted to get, but i settled on these fab ones by Nike.
Theyre so fun and i already have a few pieces of workoutgear that match them at home. Sorted!!

Did any of you go for some fitness motivation after christmas like me?
Link your blogs below, i'd love to read them :)

Hay lovlies,
Las night I had my work Christmas party. It was held in the dunboyne castle hotel. The food was top notch, and the function room decor was fab too.
The theme was 'the oscars' so the dress code was smart.
I chose to wear a blue fitted dress with black and gold accessories.
The dress, statement necklace and the stroppy sandals are all from New Look.

For my makeup I went for something pretty simple.. Using the Urban Decay Naked palette.

Hope you enjoy,
Much love,
